***Alert***BOIL WATER ADVISORY for Town of Farmington due to aCity of Canandaigua Water Main Break.UPDATE Wednesday, November 5 **Update** 11-6-25 City of Canandaigua Boil Water Advisory is still in effect until further noticeWhen water pipes lose pressure, there is an increased chance that untreated water and harmful microbes can enter the water distribution system. Under NY State Department of Health regulations, the City of Canandaigua is required to issue a Boil Water Advisory for all affected customers. Residents in the affected area should bring tap water to a rolling boil for three (3) minutes before using for: Drinking, Food Preparation, Brushing Teeth, Washing dishes and Making Ice After DPW completed repairs (approximately 8:30 p.m. on 11/4), we began performing bacteriological testing. Once two consecutive samples meet City, State and Federal water quality standards, the advisory will be lifted and notification will be made through local media and municipal websites. Currently the soonest the advisory can be lifted is Friday morning (11/7).
