BOIL WATER ADVISORY for Town of Farmington due to a

City of Canandaigua Water Main Break.

UPDATE Wednesday, November 5

**Update** 11-6-25 City of Canandaigua Boil Water Advisory is still in effect until further notice

When water pipes lose pressure, there is an increased chance that untreated water and harmful microbes can enter the water distribution system. Under NY State Department of Health regulations, the City of Canandaigua is required to issue a Boil Water Advisory for all affected customers.

Residents in the affected area should bring tap water to a rolling boil for three (3) minutes before using for: Drinking, Food Preparation, Brushing Teeth, Washing dishes and Making Ice

After DPW completed repairs (approximately 8:30 p.m. on 11/4), we began performing bacteriological testing. Once two consecutive samples meet City, State and Federal water quality standards, the advisory will be lifted and notification will be made through local media and municipal websites. Currently the soonest the advisory can be lifted is Friday morning (11/7).

In the upper right hand corner of your bill will be your account number and CID which you will need to register for a new account.

The Farmington Town Board meets at least two times a month. 

   The November meeting dates are Wednesday November 12th and Tuesday November 25th. 

This is a virtual Town Hall and in person meeting where staff and residents can call in and listen to the board meeting. More information will be provided as we get closer to the meeting date.

 The Public Works committee meets at 7:00 am and Town Operations committee meets at 9 AM both in the Town Hall on Tuesday of the Town Board meeting day. Please confirm with the Supervisor's office for times and locations.

Normally Draft agendas and resolutions are posted on this site the Friday before each Town Board meeting and updated the day of the board meeting.

Planning Board and Zoning Board agendas are normally available five days prior to the meeting date. Meetings start at 7pm unless other wise listed on the Town calendar.
